Medical Director at Advanced Podiatry
Specialist in treatments, minimally invasive foot surgery and biomechanical gait studies. He also works as a university lecturer and is a member of podiatric associations.
Dr. Luis Castillo Sánchez is a podiatric surgeon specialized in treatments such as minimally invasive surgery for hallux valgus (bunions), claw toes, Morton’s neuromas, plantar fasciitis surgery, flat foot surgery, and heel spurs. He also performs surgery for ingrown toenails, biomechanical gait analysis and custom orthotics, laser treatment for onychomycosis, and growth factor application.
He is also specialized in ultrasound-guided surgery and ultrasound-guided interventions for conditions such as Baxter’s syndrome, ultrasound-guided gastrocnemius lengthening, infiltrations, and hydrodissections of peripheral nerves in the foot, among others.
He obtained his doctorate from Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya and completed two master’s degrees in Podiatric Surgery at the University of Barcelona, as well as a postgraduate program in Minimal Incision Surgery at UManresa.
Furthermore, he completed a Fellowship at Louisiana State University (LSU) in New Orleans and is an Associate Professor at the Academy of Ambulatory Foot & Ankle Surgery (AAFAS) in the United States.
He combines his clinical work with teaching responsibilities. Currently, he serves as a professor at various universities, including the University of Barcelona, UManresa (UVic-UCC), and the Catholic University of Valencia San Vicente Mártir.
Dr. Castillo is a board member of the Illustrious College of Podiatrists of Catalonia and a member of several podiatric associations.
